The Tailor Vision
The Tailor Institute empowers high-functioning individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in discovering special skills and gifts while learning tools needed to work and live more independently. Clinicians design tailored treatments plans which target our participants’ identified gifts and strengths. The goal for each client is to lead a productive, independent life. The Tailor Institute envisions a world where individuals with ASD will have every opportunity to thrive and use their skills and gifts.
Project Life Experience
A one-of-a-kind program available for high-functioning individuals on the autism spectrum. The project is designed using a unique model of the “summer camp” concept with higher education opportunities, employment training, and a more confident outlook on preparing for the workforce. This year PLE will be held at UMSL…please call The Tailor Institute to sign up as space is limited!
Each individual at The Tailor Institute displays strengths and/or gifts. Mentors are a great component to a client’s ongoing success after The Tailor Institute. The program utilizes the expertise of the mentors in order to harness an individual’s strengths and gifts, providing focused one on one practicum. Mentor fields can range from math and science, history and memory-recall, to art, music, design — even areas more specific such as culinary arts.
