Promoting Strengths & Independence in Individuals with Autism
About The Tailor Institute
Founded in 2003 by the father of an individual with autism, The Tailor Institute emerged from both necessity and compassion. Dr. David Crowe recognized a critical gap in services for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) – services that would build on their inherent strengths rather than focus on limitations. His vision was to create pathways to greater independence in both work and daily living, while nurturing the unique personalities and exceptional abilities of those with ASD.

Today, we remain steadfast in our commitment to Dr. Crowe's founding mission: to empower individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder to learn the necessary tools needed to work and live more independently. We continue to work toward his broader vision – ensuring that no parent watches their child with autism retreat into isolation, but instead sees them thrive within a supportive community that fosters trust, personal growth, and meaningful connections to the world around them.
